BatteryVitamin – rejuvenate your battery and feel fresh again

BatteryVitamin promises to rejuvenate your old lead acid battery and lengthen its lifespan. It does this by doing some ‘nano’ stuff to help keep the plates fresh by cutting down on the electroplating process. It’s apparently nothing to do with sulfating, which is a well known alternative method. Anyway it seems that it stops the corrosion of the plates in the battery. If it works as advertised it could be useful for the electric vehicle market, eh?  What it all…

Mac attack….

Mac targeted by Trojan? Mmm…it looks as though the Apple ecosphere is joining the ranks of we mere mortals. It’s a shame, but inevitable really. See also here.  Two pieces of malicious software affecting Apple’s Mac OS X appeared this week: a Trojan horse with the ability to download and install malicious code of an attacker’s choice, and a hacker tool for creating backdoors, according to security vendors. The Trojan — called ‘OSX.RSPlug.D’ by Intego, the Mac security specialist that…

Chatterbox DVD. Take one green screen booth, throw in a hidden live motion capture operator, add in some swish special effects and you’ve got a new amusement facility which aims to offer a unique experience for young and old alike. LEDs may reduce wrinkles – household light bulbs gather in dejected huddles

German boffins have come up with a theory that ‘high intensity’ light from LED lamps could be as effective as Botox therapy in removing facial wrinkles. Apparently the light does this by removing the moisture on sub-surface tissue thereby restoring its elasticity. Here’s the actual report for those who’re interested. That sound you hear? Aging ladies from around the world rustling around in attics for their old discarded sun-lamps. [Via]  In the study, Andrei P. Sommer and Dan Zhu point…
