Two new Palm PDAs launched today, the Palm m515 and the Palm m130. The m515 features a 3 stage screen backlight, which improves the screen brightness considerably. At the top setting it can now hold its own with the iPaq (still not quite as bright but very close). In all other respects this is a similar box to the m505 it replaces. 16MB memory, some additional software and a slightly different case. It’s nice but not earth shattering and in many ways this is Palm playing catch up. On the other hand the m130 is a definite jump in specification for this class of PDA. The colour screen is really crisp indoors, although I didn’t get to see it outside, where it is apparently not as good as the m5xx.
