NailO – brilliant fingernail trackpad

Sometimes you have to take your hat off to the boffins for coming up with something genuinely innovative, and this new concept product is one of those. The NailO is a nail sticker which fits over a thumb and converts your digit to a full blown trackpad. It’s the brainchild of the geeks at MIT – we’re rather surprised it’s not a crazy Kickstarter project yet – and it looks to have real potential.

There’s no question that cool tech advances in sensors have given us some amazing products. Health and fitness monitors are everywhere, and there’s also a growing segment for sensors which can track our environment, and help us stay aware of what’s happening in our local surroundings. The new Archos Weather Station is the latest product to enter this arena, and it’s not a bad system at all, as we found out in our tests.

Fossdroid – ditch Google apps and go fully open source on your phone [Freeware]

There are lots – and we mean lots – of free apps out there for your Android smartphone. However most of them are just free to push ads onto your phone, or they’re cut down versions which nag you to upgrade to get the ‘full’ version. Which is why this online catalog of open source apps for Android really makes a refreshing change.
